Case Study

In the dynamic digital landscape, online success is closely tied to a website's performance. This case study examines in detail the transformation of our client's website, MUD Studio Italia (, from a WordPress site with disappointing performance to a solid Jamstack infrastructure, thus redefining user experience standards.

Initial Problem

Imagine landing on a website's homepage using a mobile device and having to wait a whopping 7 seconds before seeing anything useful. This was the critical issue facing, burdened by unsatisfactory loading times and overall disappointing performance. Users, due to excessive waiting times, found themselves having to wait before being able to access content, causing a negative impact on their perception and engagement with the site.

Technical Solutions

Our team tackled this challenge by adopting the Jamstack architecture, a methodology for frontend web development focused on creating content and user interfaces. Its core feature allows developers to quickly build and effectively deliver static websites to users. Abandoning the constraints of WordPress, we chose Gatsby as the headless CMS, supported by Storyblok for content management. This strategic decision led to a clear distinction between code, infrastructure, and content, allowing unprecedented scalability. The separation of these components meant more efficient resource management, significantly improving overall site performance.

Key Results

Before migration, the Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) required a whopping 20 seconds. After migration, the LCP drastically reduced to just 2.4 seconds, significantly enhancing user experience. The reduction in loading time meant that users could quickly access content, greatly increasing interaction with the site. Additionally, the Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) dropped to a remarkable 0.03, well below Google's stringent metrics, ensuring a stable and annoyance-free visual experience during navigation.

Business Benefits

The Core Web Vitals, essential for search engine ranking, showed immediate improvements according to the Google Search Console report. The bounce rate decreased from 40% to 20%, indicating strengthened user engagement, a key element for increasing conversions. The combination of technical improvements and optimization helped transform the site not only into a faster destination but, more importantly, into a more engaging user experience.

The migration to Jamstack not only resolved technical issues but also opened the doors to a new chapter for online success. The transformation of, besides being an example of technological optimization, clearly demonstrates that investing in web performance translates directly into business success. Redefining site performance has positively influenced user interaction, contributing to tangible growth in terms of conversions and engagement. The path to digital success is clear: investing in performance is investing in the future of online business.
